Commission a One-of-a-Kind Work

The most personal pieces in any collection are the ones made for you — conceived in conversation with the artist, built around your vision, and finished to a standard that treats your idea with the same seriousness as any gallery work.

Groucho accepts a limited number of commissions throughout the year, and each one is approached with the same devotion and craftsmanship as every work in the studio. A commission is not a shortcut to owning a Groucho's Mark piece — it is an invitation to collaborate in the making of something that has never existed before and never will again.

What a Commission Includes

When you commission a work from Groucho's Mark, you receive:

• A piece built entirely by hand — sculpted, cast, painted, and/or sewn from start to finish by Groucho, with no production shortcuts

• A collaborative process — your ideas, references, and vision are woven into every stage of creation, from initial concept through final finishing

• Documentation of the work — photographs of the piece at key stages of production, so you can witness the transformation from raw material to finished art

• A truly singular object — your commission will never be recreated, duplicated, or offered to another collector in any form

Commission Inquiry

Commissions are open year-round. Due to the time and care invested in each piece — typically eight to sixteen hours per figure — Groucho maintains a limited roster of active commissions to ensure every collector receives the full attention their piece deserves.

To begin a conversation about your commission:

Please share a brief description of your vision, any reference images that inspire you, and any particular techniques or elements (original sculpture, fabric work, specific character source material) that are important to you.

Every commission inquiry is answered personally. There are no forms, no automated responses — just a direct conversation between artist and collector.
